Mecanika helps students develop intuitive knowledge related to physical mechanics, more specifically the concepts of kinematics and dynamics. The puzzle game features a factory of recycling robots, whose artificial intelligence gets skewed. Aspir-o-matic 412 needs help to manage recycling operations... Research conducted by the Université du Québec à Montréal’s Science Didactics Department shows that using the game Mecanika with Secondary 5 students significantly improves exam performance. The data gathered also suggests that assigning the game for homework can be beneficial without disturbing the classroom context or requiring help from the teacher.
