MTL-NRD: STORIES OF MONTRÉAL-NORD

2020 / Cultural

Experience

MTL-NRD is a web documentary produced as part of the large-scale international research project TRYSPACES, which is studying how young people use spaces and how society views this use. It is conducted by the Institut national de la recherche scientifique (INRS). MTL-NRD emerged out of research by Violaine Jolivet, Célia Bensiali-Hadaud, and Chakib Khelifi. It gives a voice to young people from Montréal-Nord, who shared their points of view on the places they occupy, life in the neighbourhood, and the things that affect them. They participated actively in the ideation and script-development process, helping to provide a more sensitive and clear-sighted perception of Montréal-Nord.
